Geography

The County is located in the extreme southwest of North Dakota, on the south by South Dakota, to the west by Montana and has an area of ​​3022 square kilometers, of which 13 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Slope County, Adams County, Harding County ( South Dakota) and Carter County ( Montana).

History

Bowman County was formed in 1883. It was named after Edward M. Bowman, an early politicians and legislators of the Dakota Territory.
