The Bowman County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Bowman.

Geography

The County is located in the extreme southwest of North Dakota, on the south by South Dakota, to the west by Montana and has an area of ​​3022 square kilometers, of which 13 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Slope County, Adams County, Harding County ( South Dakota) and Carter County ( Montana).

History

Bowman County was formed in 1883. It was named after Edward M. Bowman, an early politicians and legislators of the Dakota Territory.
