Stark County (North Dakota)

Stark County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Dickinson.

Geography

The County is located in the central south-west of North Dakota and has an area of ​​3472 square kilometers, of which 6 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Dunn County, Mercer County, Morton County, Grant County, Hettinger County, Slope County and Billings County.

The county is drained by the Heart River.

History

Stark County was formed in 1879. It was named after George Stark, a vice-president of the Northern Pacific Railroad.
