The Mercer County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Stanton.

Geography

The County lies to the west of the geographic center of North Dakota and has an area of ​​2881 square kilometers, of which 173 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: McLean County, Oliver County, Morton County, Stark County and Dunn County.

History

Mercer County was formed in 1875. It was named after William Henry Harrison Mercer, one of the first settlers in the area.
