Epenwöhrden
Epenwöhrden ( Low German: Epenweuhern / Epenweuern ) is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein.

Geography
The community Epenwöhrden is the march between Meldorf and Heide ( Holstein ) on both sides of the national highway 5, wherein the center of the trunk road lies to the west. The Land Registry Meldorf has determined that Epenwöhrden (specifically the Epenwöhrdenermoor ) is the center of the Dithmarsch mainland.
The community is made up of the districts Dehling, Epenwöhrden, Epenwöhrdenerfeld and Epenwöhrdenermoor.
Policy
Of the eleven seats, the voter community ABEWG ( General Civil Epenwöhrdener Wählergemeinschaft ) eight and ABDWGE ( General Conservative Democratic voters Community Epenwöhrden ) has three seats.

Dusenddüwelwarf
In 1500, the Dithmarsch peasants defended their freedom at the Battle of Hemmingstedt against the numerically far superior forces of the Danish King John I and his brother Duke Frederick I " Kumt True di, Garr, de de Buer " of Holstein with the battle cry ( Be careful guard, the farmer comes ). A memorial stone was erected in Epenwöhrden on the Dusenddüwelswarf to the 400 - year anniversary in 1900, is reminiscent of that victory.
