Hellschen-Heringsand-Unterschaar

Hellschen herring -Unterschaar is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein.

Geography

The municipality is located in the new march on the North Sea coast. It consists of the districts Hellschen, herring and sand Unterschaar. A town center within the community does not exist.

History

The parish was formed on 1 April 1934 a part of the parish community land Wesselburen.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2013, the voters Community WGHE has all seven seats in the municipal council.

Economy

Agriculture, especially farming and various wind farms dominate the landscape. In addition to agriculture, there is still a little tourism.

Special

Hellschen herring -Unterschaar is the longest church name with 32 characters in Germany.

A special feature is a single family home in the village street Represents the designed by the architect Klaus Sill and 1994/1995 built house won the 1999 a second rank of BDA Architecture Prize Schleswig -Holstein. The detached house should be in harmony with the landscape of the nearby North Sea coast. The construction has therefore to weather side to the northwest a closed concrete facade with aluminum and sheet metal cladding for protection against the environment, to the south but a wood - and-glass structure with a sheltered terrace. This is intended to reflect both the difference and complexity of the landscape from which it formed itself.
