James Adams Stallworth

James Adams Stallworth ( born April 7, 1822 in Evergreen, Conecuh County, Alabama; † August 31, 1861 near Evergreen, Conecuh County, Alabama) was an American lawyer and politician (Democratic Party).

Career

James Adams Stallworth visited Old Field Piney Woods Schools. Then he went to agricultural activities. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1848 and then began to practice in Evergreen. Stallworth also pursued a political career. He was 1845-1848 Member of the House of Representatives from Alabama. Then he worked in the years 1850 and 1855 as a solicitor on 2 Judicial District of Alabama. Stallworth ran unsuccessfully in 1854 for the 34th U.S. Congress. He was elected to the 35th U.S. Congress and re-elected in the following 36 U.S. Congress. Stallworth worked in the U.S. House of Representatives from March 4, 1857 until his resignation on 21 January 1861. He died in the same year and was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery.
