Mertesdorf

Mertesdorf ( Moselle Franconian: Meertesdaerf ) is a wine-growing village in the Ruwer valley, near Trier and a health resort. The municipality is located in the district of Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland -Palatinate and belongs to the municipality of Ruwer.

Geography

Mertes village is located about ten kilometers from Trier- Ruwer valley in the town center. The old center has developed into a side valley of the Ruwer. This location gives the place a remarkable scenic beauty. In the valley of the Ruwer flows through a meadow, in which string together mills. On both sides of Nebentalmündung climb vineyards partly steeply uphill and surrounded the village to the north, while the south-facing slope is bounded by forest. History
