Toto Cutugno

Toto Cutugno ( born Salvatore Cutugno, * July 7, 1943 in Fosdinovo, Province of Massa -Carrara ) is an Italian songwriter, singer and songwriter.

Life

In the 1970's he was a songwriter, active, inter alia, for Adriano Celentano, Dalida, Mireille Mathieu and Johnny Hallyday Joe Dassin as well. He was a member of the group Albatros, who participated twice at the Sanremo Festival.

In 1978, he launched a successful solo career. Two years later he won the Sanremo Festival with the song solo noi. In 1983 he had his biggest international hit with the title L' Italiano. In 1990 he won with Insieme: 1992 Euro Vision Song Contest, which he hosted along with Gigliola Cinquetti 1991. In 2005, he landed the sixth time in 2nd place in the Sanremo Festival.
