Viereck

The church square is located in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald in eastern Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office of Uecker- Randow Valley with offices in the city Pasewalk.

Geography

The municipal area extends from the eastern shore of Uecker to Randowtal. The area of ​​rectangle is flat and densely wooded (share of Ueckermünder Heath ). North of quadrilateral is a large military training area ( Stallberg - Drögeheide Woodpecker mountain Karpin ). As well as in the Ernst- Thalmann settlement the cuirassier barracks in the Infantry Battalion 411 stationed.

History

The village was founded in 1748 by settlers from the Palatinate and can boast a remarkable Catholic Church and houses from the founding period. The first hunter mountain called town was renamed in 1751 in honor of the Minister of State responsible for colonists Adam Otto von Viereck. The church square is 7 km north of Pasewalk.
