Grambin

Grambin is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald. It lies in the east of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ( Germany ) and at the Szczecin Lagoon, based in Eggesin managed by the Office.

Geography

The tourist center Grambin lies on the southern shore of the Szczecin Lagoon, on the edge of Ueckermünder Heath. Near Grambin opens the Zarow that drains a portion of the Friedlander Great Meadow, in the lagoon. The former county town Ueckermuende is only 3 km away.

Tourism plays a major role in the community ( municipal camping park, public swimming area ). In addition, the environment of Grambin has much to offer for nature lovers: extensive, rich wildlife, woodlands, meadows and fishing waters. The area is well served by a cycling and hiking trails. In the village itself you can still find 200 year old thatched half-timbered houses.

History

Originally a Wendish local system, Grambin 1451 was first mentioned in a document.

The fishing was conducted in 1618 as Grammi in a Pomeranian map. From 1648 to 1720 Grambin was Swedish with the so-called Alt- Vorpommern. After the Thirty Years' War, the village had two farm sites and three Kossäten.

From the 18th century originated in the Haffküste smaller yards, the end of the 19th century there was also Grambin in a shipyard. 1777 a post road from Anklam was applied to Stettin, which led by the community. The locals here had to do manual services. About the Zarow was floated in 1900 wood. This timber was loaded in Grambin on barges. In the 1930s, there was in place a number of crafts, including inns, haulage companies, bakers, tailors, carpenters and butchers. In 1965, tourism has developed in the community with the opening of the campsite.

Transport links

17 km west lies the community Ducherow. There is connection to the national road network (B 109 Berlin - Pasewalk - Stralsund ). The nearest train station is four kilometers away in Ueckermuende.
