Policy

Coat of arms

Blazon: " Argent, a red embattled walls covered with 6 silver bullets 3:2:1, also diagonally crossed a red key, Bart directed downward to the left, over red gestürztem sword. "

The redesign of a coat of arms for the castle district in Saxony- Anhalt as well as a coat of arms documentation for approval process by the provincial government in 1996, given to the Herald, Mr Jörg Mantzsch in order to in the seal, possibly on the flag of the District Administration and other personal and household type the rules of heraldry appropriate and officially approved coat of arms to lead the depiction shown here.

The Burgendlandkreis decided for the county resulting from the last district reform following symbols for the circular coat of arms to be used:

  • Obliquely crossed a key and some storm sword,
  • A crenellated wall
  • A highly stylized grape in the form of six balls 3:2:1.

Key and sword, were the arms of the former district Zeitz borrowed and make reference to the historical coat of arms of the cathedral chapter Zeitz -Naumburg. Key blade and beard lean heavily on traditional templates of seal images of the region.

It must be stated even that in the arms of the cathedral chapter key and sword, partly collected, and partly lowered were guided obliquely crossed. A unified presentation is so consistently absent.

As tinctures were red for the symbolism of the sword, keys and battlements and silver for the 6 balls, which represent stylized grapes, and elected the shield. The colors of the county are therefore red and white.

In the representation of certain symbols and figures are sometimes to observe centuries-old practice of heraldry and iconography. Not all objects are heraldic symbols. Her expression in the coat of arms does not include a real existence, but is symbolically to understand. The Zinnmauer for example, stands for the valor of a city - regardless of whether the place was truly wall - or for a castle. Other press Properties: The fallen sword, for example, is to be interpreted as a defensive gesture in the sense of peacefulness and non-violence; the key is referenced as a Christian symbol on the key of Peter.
