Detroit Bright's Goodyears

The Detroit Bright's Goodyears were an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from Detroit, Michigan. The venue of Bright's Goodyears was the Olympic Stadium.

History

The Detroit Bright's Goodyears were founded in 1945 as a franchise of the International Hockey League, in which they were one of four founding members. Equal in their first season, the team from the Motor City Detroit could first reach the final of the Turner Cup, in which they, however, their city rivals, the Detroit Auto Club, subject in the best- of-three series 1-2. In the following year reached the Goodyears the final series in which they lost 0-3 to the Windsor Spitfires. Subsequently, the Michigan team was unable to repeat these successes and missed the playoffs twice in a row, before the franchise was dissolved in 1949.
