Frank Kratovil

Frank Michael Kratovil Jr. ( * May 29, 1968 in Lanham, Prince George's County, Maryland) is an American politician. Between 2009 and 2011 he represented the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Frank Kratovil visited until 1990 the Western Maryland College in Westminster. After a subsequent law studies at the University of Baltimore and his 1994 was admitted to the bar he began to work as a lawyer. Between 1994 and 1997 he was deputy prosecutor in Prince George's County; 1997 to 2001 he held the same function in Queen Anne's County. He then worked as District Attorney until 2008. Politically, Kratovil joined the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 2008, he was the first electoral district of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Wayne Gilchrest on January 3, 2009. Since he Republican Andrew P. Harris was defeated in the elections of 2010, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 2011. There he was a member of the Agriculture Committee, the Armed Services Committee and the Committee on Natural Resources, and in six sub-committees.

Since December 2011 Frank Kratovil works as a district judge. He has been married since 1992. He and his wife have five children.
