Muskegon Lumberjacks (1984–92)

The Muskegon Lumberjacks were an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from Muskegon, Michigan. Their home stadium was the L. C. Walker Arena.

History

The Muskegon Lumberjacks put the game in 1984 operating the Muskegon Mohawks in the IHL continues. The club was in the seasons 1985/86 and 1988/89 the Turner Cup, the championship of the IHL win. Overall, the Lumberjacks were six times in the play-off final. Since 1985, the leaders of the Lumberjacks cooperated with those of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. After this cooperation was terminated in 1987, the Pittsburgh Penguins tried to cooperation between the two teams. This was finally received and existed until 1990.

At the end of the 1991/92 season, the Muskegon Lumberjacks moved to Cleveland and played there under the name Cleveland Lumberjacks to 2001 in the International Hockey League.
