William Oscar Mulkey

William Oscar Mulkey ( born July 27, 1871 in Brundidge, Pike County, Alabama, † June 30, 1943 in Geneva, Geneva County, Alabama) was an American lawyer and politician (Democratic Party).

Career

William Oscar Mulkey attended a public school and then graduated in 1892 at the State Normal College in Troy (Alabama ). He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1893 and then began to practice in 1894 at Troy. Mulkey also pursued a political career. He took 1901 as a delegate to participate in the Constituent Assembly of Alabama. Then he was in 1911 a member of the House of Representatives from Alabama. He was elected to the 63 U.S. Congress, there to fill the vacancy that was created by the resignation of Henry D. Clayton. Mulkey worked in the U.S. House of Representatives on 29 June 1914 to 3 March 1915. He decided in 1914 against a candidacy for the 64th U.S. Congress. After the expiration of his term he resumed his activities as a lawyer.
