Angola at the Olympics
Umbrella organization of the Olympic movement in Angola is the Comité Olímpico Angolano (COA ). The COA was founded in 1979 and a year later recognized by the International Olympic Committee during its 82nd session in Lake Placid.
Angola took the same in his inclusion in the Olympic family in Moscow for the first time in the Olympic Summer Games in part. Four years later, closed the country as the most socialist countries in the boycott of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Since then, it regularly takes part in the Summer Games. At the Winter Games athletes were not previously sent.
In 1980 the 13 -year-old swimmer Jorge Lima the youngest athletes Angola part. The oldest participant was 41 years in 2008 with Emanuel Fernandes, who took in beach volleyball.
