Gabon at the Olympics

Gabon, whose NOK, which was Comité Olympique Gabonais, founded in 1965 and recognized by the IOC in 1968, since 1972 takes part in the Olympic Summer Games. The 1976 Games in Montreal and 1980 in Moscow were boycotted by Gabon. On winter games so far participated in any athletes from the country.

A total of 45 participants were sent, including eight women. Anthony Obame is with his silver medal from 2012 in Taekwondo ( heavyweight) the only medal winner of Gabon.

2012 took the 16- year-old football player Muller Dinda the youngest athletes of Gabon in part. The oldest participant was 36 years in 2004 with the judoka Mélanie Engoang.
