Rhodesia at the Olympics
Rhodesia participated in three Summer Olympics. 1928 and 1964 athletes from Southern Rhodesia were sent to the Games, 1960 athletes participated the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland in part. Participation in 1968 failed because of the rigid Mexican entry regulations. 1972 Participation by the IOC was not approved, the IOC was bowing to pressure from other African countries that the Rhodesian government not recognized. From 1980, the athletes of the former British colony competed under the name Zimbabwe ( IOC abbreviation ZIM).
A total of 44 athletes entered, including nine women, to. Medals were not won.
