Venezuela at the Olympics

Venezuela, whose NOK, which was Comité Olímpico Venezolano, founded in 1935, has been sending athletes to the 1948 Summer Olympics. Since 1998 to 2006 Venezuelan athletes also participated in Winter Games.

A total of 498 participants were sent, of which 105 are women. Argentine athletes won a total of twelve medals in the Summer Games, Winter Games, they went far from empty. The most medals (five) were won in boxing.

First medal winner in 1952 of the Athlete Arnoldo Devonish, who won the bronze medal in the triple jump. First Olympic champion in 1968, the boxer Francisco Rodriguez, who won the gold medal in the light flyweight.

In 1976, with the 13 -year-old swimmer Ivis Poleo the youngest athlete in part of Venezuela. The oldest participant was in 1968 with 60 years of sports shooter Enrico Forcella.
