Qatar at the Olympics

Qatar, whose NOK, which was founded Qatar National Olympic Committee in 1979 and recognized in 1980 by the IOC since 1984 takes part in the Olympic Summer Games. At the Winter Games athletes were not previously sent. Up to the 2008 Games in Beijing Qatar was one of only three countries that had not sent any women to the Olympics. 2012 gave the Qatari NOK pressure from the IOC and sent four women to London.

A total of 108 athletes were, among them four women at. Athletes from Qatar have so far won four bronze medals. First medal winner in 1992 was the athlete Mohamed Suleiman, who latched on to the bronze medal over 1500 meters.

The youngest member of a Qatari team in 2004 was the float Anas Abuyousuf, which was launched at the age of 14 years. The marksman Nasser Al- Attiyah was 2012 at the age of 41 years the oldest starter.
