Mozambique at the Olympics

Mozambique, the NOK, the Comité Olimpico Internacional de Moçambique, was founded in 1979 and recognized in the same year by the IOC since 1980 takes part in the Olympic Summer Games. At the Winter Games athletes were not previously sent.

A total of 47 participants were sent, of which twelve women. Two medals, one gold and one bronze medals were won so far. Both medals were won by the athlete Maria de Lurdes Mutola, who participated between 1988 to 2008 at six Olympic Games.

In 1980 the 13 -year-old swimmer Pedro Cruz the youngest athletes Mozambique part. The oldest participant was 42 years in 1984 with the athlete Binta Jambane.
