Peru at the Olympics
Peru, the NOK, the Comité Olímpico was Peruano, founded in 1924, sent in 1900 an athlete to the Summer Olympics. Since 1932, athletes were, with the exception of the games from 1952 to all summer games posted. 2010 Peru first participated in Winter Games.
A total of 330 participants were sent, of which 87 are women.
First medal winner and ( also so far the only ) Olympic medalist Peru is the marksman Edwin Vásquez, who won with the Free Pistol in 1948.
In 1964 the 15 -year-old swimmer Rosario de Vivanco, the youngest athlete in part of Peru. The oldest participant was also in 1964 with 57 years of shooting friend Pedro Puente.
