Eritrea at the Olympics

Eritrea, the NOK, the Eritrean National Olympic Committee was established in 1996, has been sending athletes to the 2000 Summer Olympics. On winter games the African country never participated before.

A total of 20 participants were sent, including three women.

First and so far only medalist Eritrea is the athlete Zersenay Tadese, who won the bronze medal in the 10,000 meters in 2004.

2012 began with the 18 -year-old athlete Weynay Ghebresilasie the youngest athlete part of Eritrea. The oldest participant was 35 years Yonas Kifle 2012, also athlete. Kifle is also the only athlete in the country, who took on all games in which Eritrea participated.
