Virgin Islands at the Olympics

The Virgin Islands Olympic Committee is the National Olympic Committee of U.S. Virgin Islands. It was founded in 1967 and recorded by the International Olympic Committee in the same year.

So far, the athletes of the Caribbean island participated in eleven summer and five winter games. A total of 145 athletes entered, including 21 women, at. The Olympic debut took place in 1968. Except for the boycotted Moscow Games of 1980 was sent to all the other Summer Games sports. In Winter Games for the first time in 1988 were athletes at the starting line. At present there is a silver medal to be celebrated.

The latest member of the team in 1976 was the swimmer Shelley Cramer, which took at the age of 14 years. The marksman Bruce Meredith, 2000 was the oldest participant.
