Senegal at the Olympics

Senegal, the NOK, the Comité National Olympique et Sportif Sénégalais, founded in 1961 and was recognized in 1963 by the IOC, took part in the first 1964 Summer Olympics. Senegal is next to the Ivory Coast, the only African country that did not participate in the boycott in 1976. Also on a boycott of the games from 1980 has been omitted.

Athletes from Senegal took part in the Olympic Winter Games. Five times since 1984 were sent delegations.

A total of 218 participants were sent, of which 40 are women. There was previously a medal winner. Amadou Dia Ba 1988 won the silver medal in the 400 meter hurdles.

Youngest participant in 2000 was the float Malick case that went to the start at the age of 14 years. The oldest participant was 46 years in 1984 with the marksman Mamadou Sow.
