Somalia at the Olympics

Somalia, the NOK, the Somali Olympic Committee, was founded in 1959 and recognized in 1972 by the IOC in 1972 took part in the Olympic Summer Games. In 1976 and 1980, Somalia joined the calls for a boycott of the games in Montreal and Moscow. 1992 was abandoned during the Civil War to participate. At the Winter Games No athletes have so far been sent.

A total of 20 participants were sent, including four women. Medals were not yet won

Youngest participant in 2004 was the Athlete Abdulla Mohamed Hussein, who went to the start at the age of 16 years. The oldest participant was 31 years in 1996 with the athlete Abdi Bile.
