Geography

Argenthal is located on the northwestern edge of the Soon Forest, one to 657 m high part of the Hunsrück, which is listed as the Rhenish Slate Mountains.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1091 as " Argantal ". Sovereign was the Count Palatine of the Rhine.
