Todenroth

Todenroth is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

Todenroth is located at the headwaters of Kyrbachs on the central Hunsrück plateau. The agricultural community has an area of 1.56 km ², of which 0.36 km ² of forest.

History

First documented in 1310, the village was first mentioned in Sponheim gradient register. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. The Evangelical Church, a neo-Gothic hall church, was built in 1894. Since 1946 it has been part of the newly founded state of Rhineland- Palatinate.

Religions

The Evangelical church Todenroth, which also included Kludenbach and Metzenhausen, merged in 1978 with the Evangelical church upper Kostenz.

Todenroth is in the transport association Rhein-Mosel. The Rheinhunsrückbus line 633 offers on school days to connect to the next town, Kirchberg ( Hunsrück). The nearest railway stations are Bullay on the railway line Trier- Koblenz ( 25 km away), Emmelshausen on the railway line Boppard- Emmelshausen ( 28 km ) and Kirn on the railway line Saarbrücken -Mainz (30 km).
