Belgweiler is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality simmering / Hunsrück.

Geography
Belgweiler lies in the valley of the Simmer Bach in the Natural Park Soonwaldsteig -Nahe and centrally located in the Hunsrück.

History
Belgweiler was first documented in 1285.
With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.
Catholic Chapel of St. Anna
The Anna chapel was built around 1720 in its current form. From this period dates the baroque altar. It was created in the same workshop as the altars in the near Ravngiersburger " Hunsrück ". It is the Kreuznacher workshop of the Carmelite brothers Johann Petri Zentze, sculptor (sculptor ), Andreas Mosang and Simon Dietz. The non- plasters slate quarry stone is older window openings (see illustration).

The blazon reads: " diagonally left gestelltem sign out front in black and a rotbewehrter gezungter growing golden lion, in the back of a nested gold silver and red in two rows of beams, growing below a black crook. "
