Reckershausen

Reckershausen is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

The rural municipality is situated in the hilly landscape of the Hunsrück and covers an area of 8.19 km ², of which 4.52 km ² of forest area. To Reckershausen includes the residential places Forestry House Faas and Sonnenhof.

History

The first written record comes from the year 1072. Reckershausen was provost of the monastery area Ravengiersburg. With the dissolution of the monastery by the Dukes of Pfalz- simmering in 1566 the Reformation was introduced. 1672 was the place to Electoral Palatinate.

After the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine (1794 ) by French revolutionary troops, the place was French and was from 1798 to 1814 in the canton of Kirchberg in the Rhein -Mosel department. Because of the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) agreements, the region and thus Reckershausen was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia and was from 1816 to the circle simmering in the Region of Koblenz. Coat of arms
