Liebshausen

Liebshausen is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Rheinboellen.

History

The earliest evidence of settlements are located approximately 1.1 kilometers north of Liebshausen in the hallway Schimburg. Liebshausen was in 1006 first mentioned as " Liobeshuson " at the dedication of the church in Mörschbach. Liebshausen (then Lipshausen ) was the late 18th century as a popular hideout of robbers and horse thieves. There, the robber held Philipp Ludwig Mosebach ( " Hunter Philip " ), the failed son of a minister and leader of the " Hunsrück- gang " on. Mosebach was executed in Koblenz. Even the robber Schinderhannes came at the beginning of his criminal career after Liebshausen, where he was injured mid- 1797 at a tavern brawl by a gunshot.
