Sohrschied
Sohrschied is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).
Geography
Sohrschied located on the edge of the Kyrbachtals both sides of the Aubachs centrally located in the Hunsrück.
History
The first mention was made in the year 1428. The place belonged to the high court Rhaunen the game and Rhinegraves. Since the 16th century the place was under the rule of the Rear County of Sponheim. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. After the First World War at times again occupied by the French, the place is since 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

The blazon is: " Split of blue and gold with a red-silver geschachte humbled been swept tip, front a silver heraldic lily, behind a blue reinforced and gezungter red lion in gold."
The lion has the former membership of the village to the high court Rhaunen in the wild and Rhine County. The lily refers to the chapel in Sohrschied that Mary had as a saint. The rotsilberne chess points to the Rear County of Sponheim, under the influence of the place stood since the 16th century.
