Raversbeuren

Raversbeuren is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

Raversbeuren lies on a high plateau in the northern Hunsrück between the Hunsrückhöhenstrasse and the Moselle. The site is immediately adjacent to the airport Hahn. To Raversbeuren part of living space yard Hunsrückhöhenstraße.

History

On the boundaries of the local church there are several graves from the Hallstatt period. A first mentioned in a document of 1324 ( Ravengisburen ), probably as an outer settlement of the monastery Ravengiersburg. The steeple of the Protestant church is from the 13th century, also present there the little bell with the inscription " Maria, I am called " in large Gothic letters. The nave was renewed to 1707 and contains a beautiful loft with balustrade panels and paintings from the 18th century and an organ, the organ builder family Unmute Sulzbach. Northwest of Raversbeuren, district Briedel in Margaretenhof 1867 a Roman villa was discovered in 1875 and examined by the Rhenish Provincial Museum and partially exposed. Regular events

The Lott - Festival takes place on the boundary of the local church for twenty years. Open since the 1977 festival is also called Woodstock in the Hunsrück Mountains because of the wide range of music genres. The name Lott match the name of a parcel on the Hunsrückhöhenstraße the Moselle community Enkirch, where it was held up to the year 1985. After complaints from tenants hunting, the company moved to nearby Raversbeuren.
