Geography
Nannhausen is at the end of the Biebertals centrally located in the Hunsrück.
To Nannhausen the district Nickweiler with the Kauerhof and Kauer mill west of the village and the hamlet Schmiedel include east of the village.
History
Nannhausen the village was first mentioned in a charter of Count John IV of Sponheim from the year 1399. Nannhausen belonged to the monastery Ravengiersburg and arrived in 1557 as a result of reformation and secularization to the Duchy of Pfalz- simmering. First, the place was Lutheran, then reformed. With the end of the line of Pfalz- simmering 1674 the place came to the Palatinate and in 1686 it came to the re-admission of the Catholic religion. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. After the First and Second World Wars temporarily again occupied by the French, the place is since 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded. Today's church was established on March 17, 1974 by the merger of the municipalities Nannhausen (then 451 inhabitants) and Nick Weiler ( 121 inhabitants ).
District Nickweiler
In a document of the landlords monastery Ravengiersburg Nickweiler is first mentioned in 1285. Since the administrative reform in 1974 Nickweiler is a district of the municipality Nannhausen.
District Schmiedel
The Protestant pastor Julius Reuss from simmering founded in 1851 on the Schmiedel a rescue center for children from squalid, from which went the Schmiedelanstalten.
Parish council
The local council in Nannhausen consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Parks
On the spacious formerly agricultural area of the Schmiedelanstalten the first part of Schmiedelparks was on 17 May 2002 as a theme park opened with playgrounds for infants and school children, a vivarium as a petting zoo, a pond, a sensory trail, an equestrian center, a mountain bike practice area, a BBQ station and a supply pavilion.

Nannhausen and Nickweiler are right on the now-defunct Hunsrück cross train between Langenlonsheim and Hermes wedge. In addition, in Nannhausen exists an airfield for small aircraft. The ICAO identifier is EDRN

The Biebertaler loop road with a total length of 26.5 km linking the towns of Biebertales.
Social institutions
The district Schmiedel is the root site of the children's and youth center Schmiedel (Association of Schmiedelanstalten eV), a diaconal institutions of childcare. The grounds also provide a short-term nursing home, which is a branch of the Protestant Dr. Theodor Fricke nursing home in simmering, and the Social Pediatric Center of kreuznacher diakonie.
