Geography

Nannhausen is at the end of the Biebertals centrally located in the Hunsrück.

To Nannhausen the district Nickweiler with the Kauerhof and Kauer mill west of the village and the hamlet Schmiedel include east of the village.

History

Nannhausen the village was first mentioned in a charter of Count John IV of Sponheim from the year 1399. Nannhausen belonged to the monastery Ravengiersburg and arrived in 1557 as a result of reformation and secularization to the Duchy of Pfalz- simmering. First, the place was Lutheran, then reformed. With the end of the line of Pfalz- simmering 1674 the place came to the Palatinate and in 1686 it came to the re-admission of the Catholic religion. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Today's church was established on March 17, 1974 by the merger of the municipalities Nannhausen (then 451 inhabitants) and Nick Weiler ( 121 inhabitants ).

In a document of the landlords monastery Ravengiersburg Nickweiler is first mentioned in 1285. Since the administrative reform in 1974 Nickweiler is a district of the municipality Nannhausen.

District Schmiedel
