Keidelheim

Keidelheim is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality simmering / Hunsrück.

Geography

Keidelheim is centrally located in the Hunsrück between simmering and Kastellaun, right on Schinderhannes cycle path on an average height of 320 m above sea level. The Külzbach separates the villages Keidelheim and Kümbdchen.

History

The place name with - home suggests the formation at the time of the Frankish conquest. Keidel is derived from wedge and means that this is a gross man was the eponymous person. If colloquially to rudeness heard rudeness, then this could have been a first lumberjack.

To 1310 (1350) was the first written record in the register of interest counts of Sponheim.

Cyclists, walkers and skaters can use the Schinderhannes cycle path without detours on public roads.
