Dillendorf

Dill village is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geographical location

The place is in Kyrbachtal, centrally located in the Hunsrück, on an average height of 340 m above sea level. The historical Ausoniusstraße Dill runs through the village.

History

The first mention was made on September 19, 1338 by a Lehnsurkunde the Count of Sponheim -Stark castle and his wife Mechthild Archbishop Baldwin of Trier for erwiesenes benevolence. 1434 Dill village is called again in a confirmation charter of the Margrave of Baden and Veldenz as Counts of Sponheim about their geometry step fief. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Since 1946 it has been part of the newly founded state of Rhineland- Palatinate.
