Oppertshausen

Oppertshausen is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality simmering / Hunsrück.

Geography

The residential community with a rural character is centrally located in the Hunsrück on a hillside on Simmerbachtal. To the east lies the town of simmering, the west lies the Kauerbachtal.

History

Archaeological finds prove the settlement in the late Stone Age or during the Hunsrück- Eifel culture. The documentary first mention dates back to 1285th The place belonged to the Duchy of Pfalz- simmering, which in 1556 introduced the Reformation. Later, the Count Palatine of the Rhine was sovereign. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna.
