Lindenschied

Lindenschied is a facility located in Rhineland-Palatinate, Rhein- Hunsrück district municipality in the Hunsrück. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

Lindenschied is located on a ridge, west of the village runs the Kyrbach, east lies Dickenschied by which the B 421 runs.

History

This time the high court Rhaunen under standing Lindenschied was first mentioned in 1345. The document notes the status Linde difference and other towns that were controversial in terms of their boundaries and rights between the wild Earl of Kyrburg, the Lindenschied belonged, and the Sponheimern. The dispute was settled by the Archbishop of Mainz, Gerlach of Nassau in 1354. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French. Religion

Today's Protestant church was used simultaneously from 1689 to 1907 by the Protestant and Catholic churches. After the church was in a very bad condition, the Protestant population renewed 1951-1953 the roof and parts of the masonry largely on their own performance. The two Jewish families Mayer and lock immigrated in the 1860s made ​​by the United States. They belonged to the synagogue community Laufersweiler. The Jewish cemetery of Lindenschied was leveled after the second world war.

Economy
