Brünzow

Brünzow is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald. It is administered by the Office Lubmin based in Lubmin.

Geography and transport

The community is located between Greifswald and Wolgast Brünzow at the Greifswald Bodden. The town is located north of state road 109 at the railway line Greifswald - Lubmin. About 14 kilometers southwest of the municipality lies Greifswald and three kilometers north-east is Lubmin with the seat of office administration.

Kräpelin

The village was first mentioned in 1271 as " Trepelin ". The Slavic place name is " snort or wheeze " with (?) Interpreted. As " Cropelin " It might appear only 1302. With "ä" but it is not written until 1722. Confusion with Kropelin would be possible, but in deed texts neighboring towns are always given. North of the village a variety of Slavic settlements are archaeologically proven.

Stilow

Stilow was named in 1248 as " Stylogh " was first documented. The Slavic name is probably "dark" to interpret with.

Stilow settlement

Stilow settlement was first mentioned as such in the location list from 1957. It is an elongated housing development.

Vierow

Vierow was first mentioned in 1264 as " Wiroch " documentary. The Slavic name means something like " water vortex, vortex ".

Pomerania legends

From Vierow a Pomeranian Sage is hands down, the fire is out Vierow from Bauer. He lived in a simple dwelling at the entrance of the village and heard one night in a dream a voice. It still stands today on the right side at the entrance of Vierow.
