Mönkebude

Mönkebude is a German municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. It is managed by the Office on the Szczecin Lagoon, based in Eggesin and holds the title "state- recognized resort ".

Geography

Mönkebude is located on the southwestern shore of the Szczecin Lagoon in the conservation area Haffküste, six kilometers from Ueckermuende. History

Mönkebude is an old Slavic settlement named " Doblowitz " and was first mentioned in 1244 as Mönkebude.
