Pádraig Flynn

Pádraig Flynn (Irish Pádraig Ó Floinn; born May 9, 1939 in Castlebar ) is an Irish politician.

Flynn was born in County Mayo in Ireland and trained as a teacher. On regional policy, he turned to the national policy and established in 1977, elected to the Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament. From 1980 to 1991 he worked as a minister in various ministries, including in the area of ​​trade and tourism. In 1993 he went to the European Commission and was in the Delors Commission, Commissioner for Social Affairs, Employment, Immigration issues, internal and legal affairs. In the following Santer Commission in 1995, he focused on social policy, the other ministries he handed his Swedish colleague Anita Gradin. After the resignation of the European Commission on 16 March 1999 Flynn went into retirement.
