Saginaw Hawks

The Saginaw Hawks were an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from Saginaw, Michigan.

History

The Saginaw Generals sat 1985 game operation of the Flint Generals of the International Hockey League continued. In their first season 1985/86 the General reached with 90 points in 82 main round games third place in the East Division of the IHL. The following year, they were able to raise himself and took four points more. Thus, they were placed on the second place in the East Division. In the summer of 1985, the Saginaw Generals entered into a partnership with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. The general's changed, however, only two years later, before the season 1987/88, their club name in Saginaw Hawks. The nickname Hawks stood symbolically for this cooperation between the two clubs. In the first season after renaming the club for the play- offs to qualify, where the second round is reached. A year later, in the season 1988/89, retired from the Hawks in the first round of the play -offs. In the summer of 1989, the leaders of the Chicago Blackhawks decided to end cooperation with the Saginaw Hawks, consequently to cooperate with the league rivals Indianapolis Ice. The Saginaw Hawks were finally resolved before the 1989/90 season.
