Klosterkumbd

Klosterkumbd, official spelling to 6 December 1935: Klosterchumbd, is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality simmering / Hunsrück and is located in the valley of Kumbdbaches four kilometers northeast of the county town simmering.

To Klosterkumbd includes the residential places Birkenhof, inland Berger mill, forest house Klosterkumbd, Monastery and St. George Hausen.

History

The history of the site is determined by the former Cistercian monastery Kumbd, which was in the village monastery. It was founded in 1183 by Eberhard of Commeda ( Eberhard von Kumbd ) with support and bisherigem possession of Heinrich von Dyck. 1196 confirmed the Archbishop of Mainz, Conrad of Wittelsbach, the foundation. 1566 the monastery was abolished by the Count Palatine George of simmering. 1673 was the place to Electoral Palatinate. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate newly formed.

The local council in Klosterkumbd consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
