Monte San Giovanni Campano
Monte San Giovanni Campano is a municipality in the province of Frosinone in the Italian region Latium, located about 12,951 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012). It is located 101 km east of Rome and 19 km east of Frosinone.
Geography
Monte San Giovanni is on a hill on the edge of the Monti Ernici above the valley of the Liri. It is a member of the Comunità Montana Monti Ernici.
History
Monte San Giovanni Campano was founded in the 10th century. As an attachment to the border of the Papal States to the Kingdom of Naples, it always had strategic significance.
