Niederweiler

Niederweiler is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

The Farming residential community located in the Hunsrück. The district covers an area of 4.81 km ², of which 1.45 km ² of forest.

History

Roman settlement at the site is demonstrated. The first recorded mention exact is not known. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. After the First World War temporarily again occupied by the French, the place is since 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Parish council

The local council in Niederweiler consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
