Rödelhausen

Rödelhausen is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchberg (Hunsrück ).

Geography

Rödelhausen is centrally located in the Hunsrück, right on the Hunsrückhöhenstraße B 327 The Rödel Hausener sand pit east of the village is a geological rarity in the Hunsrück.

History

Late Hallstatt period grave mound with skeletal burial show an early settlement. The time of origin of the place is not used in a document. Since the 12th century the city was part of the County of Sponheim and came in the 18th century in the possession of the Margrave of Baden. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French and was from 1798 to 1814 in the canton of cell in the Rhine -Moselle department. In 1815 he was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. After the First World War temporarily again occupied by the French, the place is since 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate.

Parish council

The local council in Rödelhausen consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
