Urbar, Rhein-Hunsrück

Land register is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. The Rheinhöhenort belongs to the municipality Sankt Goar - Oberwesel. Reclaimed from 1974 to 1999, a district of the city of Oberwesel. 1999 land register again an independent municipality.

Geography

Land register is located between St. Goar and Oberwesel on the Rhine opposite the Loreley, with direct views of the legendary Loreley rock.

History

Land register was first mentioned in 1246 and was one of several centuries to the Official Oberwesel of the Electorate of Trier. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1815, he was assigned to the Congress of Vienna the Kingdom of Prussia and 1816 St. Goar in the mayor's country. After the First World War temporarily again occupied by the French, the place is since 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded. The independent community joined in a highly controversial move with an amalgamation agreement dated 13-14. December 1973 with effect from March 17, 1974 the town of Oberwesel. The local council in land register consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Blue, split by half a golden high cross to the right, covered with half a red high cross and a silver stake left twice, left in the lower blue field a golden grape, right in the blue edge of a golden spike.

Attractions

The Lookout " Loreleyblick Maria Ruh " land register has one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the Middle Rhine Valley.
