1990 Tippeligaen

The first Divisjon 1990 was the 46th season of the highest Norwegian Football League and the 28th season under the name 1 Divisjon. The season began on 28 April 1990 and ended on 7 October 1990.

It was the last season under the name 1 Divisjon. Starting next season, this name was taken from the second division. The major league was named Tippeligaen.

Mode

Twelve teams played in the league in a simple round-trip round against each other, so that each team completed 22 games. The tenth -place and prevent third last had to do to avoid relegation play-offs in addition to the two runners- 2 Divisjon (Group A and B).

Season

The season was very balanced (there were a total of seven teams who held at least once in first place ), no team was able to more than three points stand out from the others. Most of the time led Tromsø IL in the table, often only on goal difference. Only three games left then took over Rosenborg BK in the standings and eventually became the sixth time champions.

Rosenborg also won the cup competition this year and thus secured the Double. The two climbers Fyllingen IL and Strømsgodset IF were able to keep the classes.
