1992 Tippeligaen

The Tippeligaen 1992 was the 48th season of Norway's highest football league and the second season under the name Tippeligaen. The season began on April 25, 1992 and ended with the third relegation match on 24 October 1992.

Mode

Twelve teams played in the league in a simple round-trip round against each other, so that each team completed 22 games. The tenth -place and prevent third last had to do to avoid relegation in addition relegation matches against the two third of the first Divisjon (Group A and B).

Season

Since Matchday 3 Rosenborg BK stood at the top of the league. Only on 9 Matchday they had to hand the championship lead to the reigning champions Lillestrøm SK. The title was won the team with a clear 6:0 victory against direct competitors Kongsvinger IL on the final day. For Rosenborg was the seventh overall title. It was also the beginning of a 13-year dominance of the league in the Rosenborg won all the titles.

Rosenborg also won the cup competition this year and thus secured the Double. Of the climbers Hamarkameratene could reach the tenth place and secured the league in the relegation. Mjøndalen IF on the other hand had after just one season back in the first Divisjon dismount.

Play off

Hamarkameratene had as third from bottom in the relegation against Drøbak / Frogn FK and IF Strømmen, the third of the first Divisjon (Group A and B). With a win and a draw Hamarkameratene secured the league.
