2005 Tippeligaen

The Tippeligaen 2005 was the 61st season of the highest Norwegian Football League and the 15th season under the name Tippeligaen. The season began on 10 April 2005 and ended on 19 November 2005 with the second qualification game.

Mode

The fourteen teams in the league played in a single round-trip round against each other, so that each team completed 26 games. The two last placed athlete had to dismount. The third last had to play in home and away leg against third- placed teams from the first division of the fate in the Tippeligaen.

Season

For the first time after 1991 another team won as Rosenborg BK. After thirteen championships in a row, the club won only the 7th Place and thus not even qualified for a European competition.

The season was characterized by tension until the last game of the season. In the first round the team of the riser was IK Start at the top. They were able to work up to six points. In the second half then came up Vålerenga Oslo. The lead changed constantly between these two teams. The decision was made only on the final day. Although Vålerenga Oslo only played in a draw, they were masters at the same time as IK Start lost home.

The trophy won for the second time after 1994 Molde FK.
